THOR eFrac

Half the footprint. Zero pump emissions. 85% lower fuel cost.

THOR eFrac is a 5,000-horsepower, fully electric fracturing pump built for E&P operators and pressure pumping companies who need to cut fuel costs, shrink fleet footprint, and hit ESG targets without sacrificing horsepower or pumping performance. It eliminates diesel at the pump, cuts the number of trailers on a spread in half, and turns stranded field gas into immediate fuel savings.

The numbers that matter

  • 5,000 HP per trailer, the highest power density in the industry.

  • 85% fuel cost reduction versus conventional diesel.

  • $800K per fleet per year in maintenance savings.

  • 0 pump emissions

Why operators are moving to THOR

Conventional diesel frac fleets have a margin problem with no lever to pull. Fuel cost rises and falls with the commodity market, and the operator absorbs all of it. On top of that, the diesel engine and transmission carry the single largest non-fuel cost on a spread, with short overhaul intervals that drain capital and produce unpredictable downtime.

THOR changes the economics at the source.

Running on 100% natural gas delivers an 85% reduction in fuel cost and converts cheap, abundant field gas, including gas that would otherwise be flared, directly into operating savings. The Hitachi motor at the core of the system is rated to 40,000 hours of bearing life and eliminates the transmission entirely, the primary maintenance failure point on a conventional pump. At roughly 4,000 pumping hours per year, that removal alone saves approximately $800,000 per fleet annually.

Less equipment. Less exposure. Less downtime.

At 5,000 HP and 107,000 lbs per trailer, THOR eFrac delivers more horsepower per trailer than any other electric frac system on the market. That power density cuts the number of pump trailers on a spread roughly in half.

Fewer trailers means less to mobilize, less to rig up and rig down, less HSE exposure on the pad, and lower logistics cost on every job. The 13.8 kV input voltage reduces cable size and weight, making field deployment faster and cleaner. And because an electric motor has far fewer failure points than a diesel engine and transmission, there are fewer unplanned downtime events to explain.

Built for where the industry is going

Simulfrac-ready by design. THOR's architecture supports simultaneous fracturing operations, the direction the industry is moving for pad efficiency and well cost reduction.

Fuel-flexible. THOR eFrac runs on natural gas turbines, gas recips, or grid power. The operator controls the energy supply chain rather than depending on diesel logistics.

Stranded gas becomes fuel. Field gas that would otherwise be flared can be captured and used to power THOR, turning a flaring liability into an operating benefit and an emissions reduction.

The ESG case and the economics case are the same case

For operators reporting to boards and investors, THOR produces numbers that survive scrutiny: 85% fuel cost reduction, $800,000 per fleet per year in maintenance savings, and zero pump emissions.

Paired with natural gas power generation, third-party testing on comparable electric frac systems shows 44% or greater CO2 reduction and 94% particulate matter reduction versus Tier II diesel when field gas is used as fuel.

These are not aspirational targets. They are quantified, reportable, and defensible, which is exactly what a VP needs when the ESG question gets asked by every institutional capital allocator.

When THOR is the right call, and when it isn't

EnQuest is the only open-market OEM (original equipment manufacturer) that builds THOR eFrac, ODIN Natural Gas Fired Frac Pumper, and Tier IV DGB. We build all three, so we have no reason to push you toward one vs another.

THOR is the right answer when you need variable rate capability or a specific zero-pump-emissions requirement that only a fully electric system can meet. For high-volume, consistent-rate operations focused purely on the lowest total cost, ODIN Natural Gas Fired Frac Pumper may deliver the natural gas outcome you want at roughly half the capital cost, and we will tell you so. The honest comparison, run on your actual fleet hours and fuel situation, is the one worth having.

Engineered, built, and proven by EnQuest

Every THOR unit is engineered, fabricated, assembled, tested, and documented in-house before it ships, under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system. The same team that builds it provides ongoing Lifecycle Services support from Houston, Calgary, and Odessa. The relationship does not end at delivery.
