Tier IV DGB

Tier4dgb

Let's be honest, diesel is expensive. Up to 85% diesel substitution, on equipment you can retrofit today.

EnQuest engineers and builds Tier IV Final dual-fuel frac pumpers for pressure pumping companies and E&P operators who want to cut fuel cost and emissions now, without the capital commitment of a full technology change and without losing the ability to run on diesel when they need to. Up to 85% natural gas substitution, Tier 4 Final emissions compliance, and a clear upgrade path to ODIN Natural Gas Fired Frac Pumper when the fleet is ready.

The numbers that matter:

  • Up to 85% diesel substitution.

  • Tier 4 Final emissions compliant.

  • 2,500 HP per unit, variable rate capable.

  • 65 dBA at 100 ft with the Stealth enclosure.

The bridge from diesel, without burning the bridge

Not every operator is ready to commit a full fleet to a single new technology. Capital is tight, contracts are uncertain, and betting everything on one platform is a real risk. But diesel cost and emissions pressure are not waiting for anyone to feel ready.

Tier IV dual fuel is the answer for operators in that position. It runs on a blend of diesel and natural gas, displacing up to 85% of diesel with cheaper, cleaner-burning natural gas, while keeping the ability to run on 100% diesel whenever gas isn't available. You capture most of the fuel savings and emissions improvement of a gas technology, with a fuel-supply fallback that means you are never stranded.

Built for transition, built to last

Dual-fuel flexibility. EnQuest is a subject matter expert when it comes to the CAT 3512E Tier 4 Final DGB engine, rated 2,500 HP at 1,900 RPM, substitutes up to 85% natural gas while retaining full diesel capability. Gas when you have it, diesel when you don't.

Variable rate capability. Paired with the CAT TH55-E90 nine-speed automatic transmission, DGB delivers the rate variability that fixed-RPM direct-drive systems can't.

Tier 4 Final compliant. DGB meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards, the answer for operators losing contracts because their Tier 2 diesel fleet no longer qualifies.

Idle reduction built in. The EIRS idle reduction system cuts fuel burn and emissions during the significant portion of a job when the pump isn't at full rate.

Quieter by design. Available with EnQuest's Stealth enclosure, individual units run at 65 dBA measured at 100 feet, bringing noise-restricted and community-adjacent sites into compliance.

Configurable. A variety of quintuplex pumps and fluid end sizes are available, so the unit is built around your completion program.

Retrofit, don't replace

DGB is engineered as a retrofit solution. Rather than scrapping a functioning diesel fleet, operators can convert existing equipment to dual-fuel capability, capturing the fuel and emissions benefits at a fraction of the capital cost of new electric or fully gas-powered fleets.

EnQuest also provides dual-fuel kits and teardown-and-rebuild services for CAT DGB (Tier 2 and Tier 4F) and other engine platforms, including the ASME B31.3 stainless gas manifold, gas inlet filtration, pressure regulation, and gas testing required to do the conversion right.

When DGB is the right call, and when it isn't

EnQuest is the only open-market OEM (original equipment manufacturer) that builds Tier IV DGB, ODIN Natural Gas Fired Frac Pumper, and THOR eFrac. We build all three, so the recommendation is honest.

DGB is the right call when you want the lowest-capital, lowest-risk path off diesel, when you need to retrofit existing equipment rather than replace it, when you need a diesel fallback for fuel-supply certainty, or when you need variable rate capability at a lower entry cost than electric. When you're ready to commit to 100% natural gas at the lowest total cost of ownership, ODIN Natural Gas Fired Frac Pumper is the next step, and DGB gives you a clear, planned path to get there. When you need zero pump-side emissions specifically, THOR eFrac is the answer. We will tell you which fits your operation.

Engineered, built, and serviced by EnQuest

Every DGB unit and every dual-fuel conversion is engineered, fabricated, tested, and documented in-house under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and supported afterward through EnQuest Lifecycle Services from Houston, Calgary, and Odessa.
